How do you think about older people, and how might that be influenced by the stories in popular culture and media?

In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore:
> How general public thinks about aging and ageism in America
> The negative effects of ageism—prejudice, stereotypes and discrimination based on age—on our health, financial security, our communities and the economy
> Why changing our stories, based on research by the FrameWorks Institute, can reduce ageism and create a more favorable climate for the kinds of policies and practices that help us all thrive as we get older
> Specific strategies for telling a different story

You’ll leave with some concrete tips and examples, and strategies for spreading the word about reframing aging.

Offered by Changing the Narrative and Denver Public Library.
