EBN: An Intergenerational Approach to Supporting Youth Literacy

70% of students in many of our communities are not reading at grade level. This contributes to an achievement gap that can last a lifetime if not addressed.

For over 30 years, Literations has provided highly structured and impactful literacy tutoring to the youngest students in the Boston and Revere Public Schools.

The program is unique in several ways:
*  It is evidence-based with outstanding results for both the children and the older adults who serve as tutors.
*  Each student receives two tutoring sessions per week -- consistency and dosage matter.
*  It is intergenerational by design -- all of the literacy coaches are over the age of 50.
*  Literations is a national leader and is part of a national network called AARP Foundation Experience Corps.

Join Executive Director Wes Enicks to learn more about the literacy challenge and how you can help.
