EBN: King Boston--A living tribute to honor Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King
Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott met in Boston in 1951 as they both arrived in this city to study. He studied for his doctorate at Boston University and she studied music at the New England Conservatory. They married in 1953 and remained in Boston until 1954. Dr. King returned to Boston on several occasions, including in 1965, one month after the marches in Selma.
King Boston is building a living memorial to the legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King.
The King Memorial provides a unique opportunity to motivate all involved in racial justice to recommit with urgency to remediating the ills that Dr. King highlighted more than 65 years ago. There is still much work to be done in Boston and this memorial reminds us of the tasks ahead.
Join King Boston Executive Director Imari Paris Jeffries to learn more about this important project and how you might become involved in it.
