Many job seekers fail to recognize the critical role that networking plays in the job search process. Most of us avoid it like the plague. Instead, we spend hours — unproductive hours — tweaking our resumes and applying for jobs online. Or we force ourselves to network, and the result is that we feel out of place or lose the confidence that is key to landing a job. This webinar will help you to approach networking in an entirely new way, both in-person and virtually. You will identify “easy” networking opportunities using a multi-pronged approach and learn how to effectively market your skills and experiences to others. Learn how to make networking a natural part of what you do, and not just for the purpose of finding a job. Offered by FlexProfessionals.

The fountain of youth is working with youth. Join Arnie Rosen, a retired doctor and amateur musician who formed The Band Grandpas, a team of retired professionals who mentor middle school students in music. Andy Levine, Host of the Second Act Stories podcast, will interview Arnie about the incredible benefits of a second act working with youth.

About Dr. Arnie Rosen, Retired Doctor and Proud Band Grandpa
Dr. Rosen loved his 27-year career as a gastroenterologist in Rockford, Illinois. But when he finally retired in 2017, he knew exactly what he wanted to do. He wanted to become a “band grandpa.”

If you’ve never heard that term “band grandpa” before, don’t feel out of the loop. Arnie created it. Once a week, he and a cadre of other retired professionals join seventh and eighth graders in the middle school band rooms of Rockford’s public school system.

Listen to Arnie’s profile on the Second Act Stories podcast:
